Barton Springs is Austin’s famous spring-fed swimming pool in Zilker Park and an ideal placeto escape the summer heat. Lake Austin and Lake Travis are popular for water sports such as sailing, water-skiing or boating.
Camping opportunities near Austin include Enchanted Rock (75 miles west of Austin, near Fredericksburg, TX), Bastrop State Park (30 miles east of Austin), and Colorado Bend State Park (90 miles NW of Austin).
